Massive news coming out of Oriel Park tonight as both Chris Shields (above) and Brian Gartland (pictured below) have agreed to extend their stay at Dundalk by signing 2-year deals, which will run until the end of the 2019 season.
Midfielder Shields 26, recently clocked up his 210th appearance at the club and will now enter into his seventh season at Dundalk. He joined the club from Bray Wanderers in January 2012 and has been a regular in the starting 11, winning all domestic honours in his six years at the club including captaining the side to the EA Sports Cup just over a month ago.
Vice-Captain Brian Gartland 30, has become a mainstay in the Lilywhites defence over the past four and a half years since arriving from Portadown in the summer of 2013.
