Wexford tie up Locke for 2018

Ahead of the club’s final game of the season Wexford FC have announced the re-appointment of Damian Locke as first team manager and Carl Graham as Assistant Manager, for the 2018 season.

Wexford FC released the following statement;

Damian became the youngest manager in the League of Ireland at the start of the 2017 season, in difficult circumstances for the club. The club have been impressed with his development as both a manager and a coach and how the management team have dealt with the different challenges that have come their way.

While our League position is not as anyone would have it, our performances and results have improved gradually throughout the season. We are particularly pleased with the development of the many young players introduced into the squad over this period. We look forward to watching the development of this young squad in the knowedge that better days lay ahead.

Damian said, "I am delighted to continue in the role for the 2018 season. Hopefully we can build on this year and keep the majority of the group together which will give us a massive head start on this time last year, while adding a few new faces in areas we feel we can strengthen.

There are plenty of exciting projects going on in the club which will hopefully flourish within the next 12 months but from a football point of view we have a lot of good guys involved looking after the underage squads that myself and Carl have really enjoyed working with and I am hopeful we can all push this club forward together."
