Lawlor thrilled to win the league with Bohs

Bohemians Under 19 Manager Graham Lawlor (pictured above), in his second season at the club, was a very happy man after his side claimed the league title with a 1-0 victory over St Patrick’s Athletic at Dalymount Park last night.

“The game was a really tight affair. Both teams gave everything they had and it took a superb finish to clinch both the win and the league title.”

Lawlor, a former Bohemians striker in his playing days, is thrilled with the way the season has gone, “I’m delighted for this group of players because they gave everything, and more this season to hit their targets. 4 players have made 1st team league debuts and 10 altogether have made 1st team appearances over the course of the season in other competitions. On the International front we have had players getting capped at U-17 up to U-19 level.”

He had lots of praise for the the other coaches involved with the team this season, “It has been a great season for Bohemians Football Club. The first team, U-19 and U-17 teams have all done really well and once again we will have some very good prospects coming up from Jimmy Moulds U-17 side now. I also have to mention the U-19 backroom staff who have been superb all season. Craig Sexton to me is one of the best coaches I've worked with. Paul Flynn and Paul Murphy have been brilliant with the goalkeepers and the Strength and Conditioning side of things and the players have been really impressed with them.”

He said he’s going to enjoy the win, but that the work doesn’t stop, “Short term we will enjoy last night's success, but planning for next season starts straight away and we won't take anything for granted and we’ll keep working and developing as best we can.”
