The final quarter-final of the Under 19 League will take place on Wednesday evening with Limerick travelling up to the capital to take on Bohemians at Dalymount Park. The prize awaiting the winner is a home tie with Sligo Rovers, who beat Cork City 1-0.
Limerick boss Tommy Barrett knows his side are up against an extremely talented Bohemians side and has struggled a little to keep the lads focused and ready for the challenge, “No injury concerns but the gap between this game and our last one has been a bit of an issue, and trying to get friendly games is difficult. It’s tough trying to get the balance of keeping the boys fit and fresh.”
“I dont know much about the Bohemians side and I think they are much changed and improved since we played them in the Shield Final last year, which in itself was a very close game.”
“As it’s a midweek game I’m not sure if I will have all the lads that are involved with the first team with us or not at this moment in time. We will have a better idea after the first team game against Drogheda at the weekend.”
Bohemians manager Graham Lawlor has done his homework on Limerick and feels that his side have nothing to fear, “Our preparation for the game has been going well. We have watched some Limerick games on-line and they will be a tough opponent.”
“The confidence and belief in our group is high after winning the Northern division but we understand that means nothing going into a knockout cup competition.”
“The starting eleven on the day must perform as they have been all season and hopefully we’re in the hat for the semi finals.”
Lawlor has a clean bill of health heading into the game, “We will have a full squad to choose from and in recent friendlies and training sessions the momentum from the season has continued in terms of work rate and general performance. I'm hoping a big crowd turn out on the night to support both teams. The standard at U-19 level this season is very high and I'm sure people will be impressed by the game.”
