Bohs add four more to 2018 squad

Bohemians announced 4 additions to their 2018 squad today, including midfielder Keith Ward, along with some excellent young players in Eoghan Morgan and Romanian striker Cristian Magerusan. Also joining the club is ex-St Pats midfielder JJ Lunney.

Ward 27, had his best season since his first spell at the club in 2012, as he featured in 25 games, scoring five times.

Manager Keith Long has had an excellent recruitment drive so far in this off-season, said of a couple of his new additions, “Wardy's been great for us and we're delighted to he's committed again.

"He took a little while to settle back in but Wardy is the kind of player that when he plays well, the whole team tends to play well. He's been excellent for us."

We tried to bring (JJ Lundy) in before but unfortunately he had already committed to St Pat's.”

"He is a player who is going to give us great energy in midfield. He can play in the middle or on the wing and he's a left-footer.

"He's an excellent young player and is exactly the type of player we want to recruit to the club.

"He's ambitious and we believe we can help him reach his potential at Dalymount Park."

Romanian striker Magerusan, described by Long as "an excellent finisher and an all-round striker with great pedigree" has been training with the club since the start of the year.

But difficulties obtaining international clearance for the 18-year-old, who last lined out for Lucan United having also previously been on the books of CFR Cluj, prevented him for signing for the first team until now.

It brings to 17 the number of players under contract at Bohemians for next season: Oscar Brennan, Dan Byrne, Dan Casey, Dinny Corcoran, Rob Cornwall, Jamie Hamilton, Paddy Kavanagh, Paddy Kirk, JJ Lunney, Cristian Magerusan, Eoghan Morgan, Derek Pender, Fuad Sule, Shane Supple, Warren O'Hora, Keith Ward, John Ross Wilson.
